February 3: Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney on Her Bid for Green Party Nomination for 2008 Presidential Election, Dean of MA School of Law on a Number of Issues, and Judith Karpova - Author, Human Shield, and Human Rights Activist
Cynthia McKinney, 6 term US Congresswoman, joined us to discuss her bid for the Green Party nomination for President in 2008 and touch upon a number of issues regarding the American Media Blackout of the 2004 and 2006 Congressional Elections, Impeachment of Bush and Cheney, the Military industrial Complex, and a few other things, to be certain.
Dean of the Massachussettes School of Law, Lawrence Velvel, joined us once again to discuss the soaring cost of education, the media infotainment complex wrt the illegal military invasion of Iraq, and trends in law school education.
We were joined by Judith Karpova who went to Iraq in 2003 as a human shield to protect vital infrastructure and the civilian population. She returned from Iraq only to find a letter from the US Treasury Department stating their intent to prosecute her for supporting the economy of Iraq by allegedly buying food to eat while she was in the country. The brief for this case has gone through the lower courts and will be presented to the Supreme Court in a month. Judth has published a book about her experiences.
